Patrick Dixon's story

New Century scribe

Patrick DixonWHILE Patrick Dixon attended the Pioneer conference (2005), the presses were rolling with his latest book. ‘Building A Better Business’ emerged from a thought process that started at a similar event five years ago. ‘On several occasions, new books have resulted from a conference,’ Patrick admitted. ‘Over many years, Pioneer conferences have been places where very significant things have happened - often without a word being said.  ‘Things have just settled, clarity has come, along with fresh perspective and anointing for God's work - as well as friendships renewed and new connections made.’

Global trends

Literature is one means used by this 48-year-old husband and father to reach others. He runs a website - globalchange.com – that drew 2.5 million visitors over the past year. Through his global trends forecasting company Global Change Ltd, Patrick is in touch with key people from corporations, government and other kinds of organisations. But he and his family have always rooted themselves in local church life near their North London home. ‘Our best friends are still the same people that we committed ourselves to over 25 years ago,’ he said.

AIDS epidemic

It was way back in 1987 that the Pioneer team believed God was calling them to focus on the AIDS epidemic. So they supported Patrick in launching Pioneer for AIDS and ACET – now well known as a global movement. ‘Pioneer churches have supported the work in many ways over the years - and continue to do so,’ he said. Patrick went on to write many books, on a variety of issues from AIDS to revival. However, sometimes even he abandons computer and mobile to escape for a quiet day off with his wife Sheila – his ‘greatest encourager’.
